I just purchased a 1996 wave with the classic tramp set up that needs to be replaced. Is there a way to convert the tramp to the club setup by adding side rails and utilizing the screws which hold the current classic tramp hooks which hold the ss cable to the hull?

Cant wait to get on the water.

You probably could do it if you are ambitious. I am pretty sure the hooks have backing plates that would probably fall down once the screws are removed. But if you could use the same holes for the club tramp tracks. I think you would need to remove the seat pads, and the open up the access ports so you can get inside to hold backing plates in place while drilling and mounting the new tracks.
I can take a picture from the inside of mine (I have inspection ports I installed).

Thanks for the info. Hobie tells me cant be done and though I am ambitious, I opted to replace with an aftermarket classic tramp. Hobie wanted almost $700.00 for a new tramp. Id like to know how legal hemp is in California to come up with a price like that.
I had a 14' growing up and now sail a Catalina 30. I just fell into a deal with someone selling their wave for $300.00 couldnt refuse that price and all it needs is a new tramp and some new running rigging, which should come in this week. Cant wait to get out there, hope its blowing 25kts.

There is a lot of labor in the tramp version.
