Greetings Getaway Gurus!
My crew (my wife and I) are having quite a time trying to connect the forestay connector to the jib furler on our new Getaway. My solution: Could I substitute 2 quick pins instead of the original equipment which consists of one pin/ring ding?

Quick pins can fail too easily... I don't recommend.

I do recommend raising one shroud pin higher in the plate to make the rig loose enough to easily pin the forestay. Then use the halyard or mainsheet the sail hard to one side to pull the mast to that side and tension the rig at the shroud adjuster.

I have used the rope from the winch. Loop it under the trailer tongue and the up through the tramp between the crossbar and tramp. Hook it to the forestay above the furling and then bring the forestay down to the bridle and put the pins in. Wife and I use it and I receive little if any help from her.
