I've been waiting on a sail from Whirlwind that is delayed and I can't get any answer from them. Vermont summers are only 3 months long. Where can I get one ASAP? Not sure I'll need go that route but I need to prepare.

Thanks

I've dealt with these guys on many things, and let me say they are pretty (let me change that "very") weak in terms of follow-up and organization. I never got some parts I ordered last season for this same 17 so went to Murrays. I'll find another dealer. BTW, No one is moving the re-vitalized cat category on lake champlain, and its such a shame that I'm toying with it.

Thanks.

That is a shame... You can enter different zip codes and city names in the dealer finder to get more results.

As the Factory guy, Matt cannot recommend one dealer over another.
that having been said, I am under no such restriction.

I would recommend the following four dealers in no particular order.

Jim Sohn, the Sailing Centre, DesMoines Iowa
Jeremy Surf City Cat, California
Aris Chalmers, Mariner Sails, Dallas Texas
Brad @ Sunjammers, Panama City Florida

Virtually ALL of those guys are EXCELLENT on both knowledge and follow thru.

Jeremy at Surf City Catamarans has always done me right. (831-475-7245)

I've got to give Aris a plug at Mariner Sails. He's helped me spend thousands breathing life back into my old H20, including a new set of custom Hobie sails. He's so good at at what he does that even though I'm a tight wad by nature, I've enjoyed dropping a bunch of dough in his store. He's got a big parts inventory with a lot of stuff in stock. If he's got what you need on hand, he'll send it out the next day.

Jim Sohn did me right at Mid-Winters East. He brought a trailer full of parts down to Mississippi and thankfully he had a new Hot Stick with him when my old one broke.

Brad and Jeremy are regular contributers on the Forum and appear to be very knowledgable.

Buy Hobie your sails through Hobie and keep your boat class legal. Even if you don't race, you'll have more potential buyers for your boat should you decide to sell one day. A lot of folks wouldn't buy a boat without factory sails unless it was priced really low.

My two cents worth.

Thanks, all; now I have some "great" dealers who love cat's to work with in the future for all parts. Regarding the sail, he (Chip) called me back finally and it's on the way. Great guy, I just like good dates when it comes to customer service.

Whirlwind sail is very nice. If I could sail to its potential, I'd be happy. Delayed but worth it.
