A boat trailer makes a great platform for carrying kayaks. By adding a rack or two it’s surprising what you can fit. Here is a TI, 2xAI’s, and an Oasis which are easily under the 400kg capacity of this trailer.

I found it easier to transport the TI on top and keep the AI's assembled. The TI is easier to manage in separate bits and the lock in aka make it easy to assemble at the boat ramp.

So the trailer remains balanced it’s better to extend the rear of the trailer if possible. That way the overhang will be less. This is less overhang than 1.2m and so doesn’t require a flag here in NSW.

Another solution is to modify a box trailer and lengthen the drawbar. On this little Aunger trailer, which I use to transport the TI alone, I have added a 4m drawbar. Some extra angle braces strengthen the frame and eliminate the snakiness such a long drawbar can have. There is over 1.2m overhang here so a flag is necessary, but the box trailer gives you somewhere handy to store the drives and accessories. I prefer to transport the TI hull down and it’s not too difficult to slide it up and then flip it over.

That's hull down? I think you were still tired from lifting that TI hull when you wrote that!

Nice setups! :)

It all makes me happy that I have an AI (actually, 2 AIs).
