I picked up a 2005 Tiger and today was my first run with it. All I can say is Wow! It is a sweet rig. WE fumbled a bit getting her together but finally we had her set up and we headed out. It was rough on the Texas coast witht he aftermath of the hurricane and we had nice swells and chop along with 12-14mph winds. It made for some great sailing and good conditions to get to know her a bit. What a kitten she is. Big power and it comes on very quickly. I popped the main out a few times finding the feel but finally I started finding the right mix stroking the main sheet and rudder to build some fun and speed. Very impressed, coming from a Hobie 16 it was a big jump. I can't wait until next weekend!

Hey Bean,

Glad to hear you're hooked, just like the rest of us! Me and a buddy just took my 2002 Tiger out for my second day and his first (he's a big boat mono guy) in Newport harbor on Saturday. The boat is awesome, I just moved up from a 16 too, which I'm still gonna race solo ( I add weight) but the Tiger and F18 are the next level in my sailing addiction. It was blowing 16+ steady and 22+ gusts and it was actually not super scary like I thought big air could be. The hulls do a nice job of punching through chop and wakes, way better than the 16 ever could! It probably didn't hurt that we are both 200+ lb guys. Anyway, glad to hear you had fun and welcome to the club!!
