I am thinking of doing up to Coober Pedy (no water) and then up to Northern Territory (water). In Coober Pedy the temperature gets up to 45-47c (113f - i think), and I am sure that it is a lot hotter on the road. The TI will be on the roof for 10-12hr. Do you think it would cope with the heat on the roof. I have read about temperature and long trips could damage the yak.

Matt Miller may be better able to comment on such temperatures, but I'd be strongly thinking about extra support - bow, 3 x hull cradles, and stern. I've been out Innamincka way, and sure gets hot out there mate!

BTW, I believe Lake Eyre has water. You'd probably be the first AI/TI on the Lake!
