We have more time! The Cuba Run has been postponed for a year.

Gary, years ago I lived in the Bahamas and had a room mate that built his own 30' cat. He salvaged a mast off a ship wrecked yacht among other things, and it took him forever to build. Unfortunately, he sailed to close to Cuba and was welcomed by the Cuban Navy. Eventually, he got out of jail and returned, but his boat didn't...

I just started reading the rules and saw: "3.5 Leverage Devices (wings): Devices designed to produce extra leverage that extend beyond the beam width such as wings are not allowed on the race."

Has anyone asked if this point is being debated?

New to the group. Am picking up my Hobie 21 SE on Friday.

I picked up the boat in IN and pulled it back to Texas. Mainly Texoma and Ray Roberts but will take to the coast for trips. I love the idea of doing some rallies versus "official race" on the 21. Have a friend with a motor boat that could serve as chase boat from Florida to the Bahama's. After I get a few sails under my belt I may work on it especially if my old Fleet 23 in Dallas doesn't allow wings. I wish they would add a non racing class to Cuba and take away the issue of wings.
