Hello
My 12 year old son and I have mastered using our new (to us) Hobie Bravo but with one problem.
After we flip it and get it righted, I can't pull myself (not a small self) back up on the boat. I am working on strengthening those muscles, but does anyone have a suggestion until then? Has anyone used some type of ladder. I looked on ebay but only see metal ones. Do they make a fabric type ladder? Thanks for your help.

How/where is it attached to the Bravo?

I don't have a Bravo so I'm not sure where the best place would be...it can be tied to just about anything on the boat...pick a place that's easiest to board...

I'm not sure how strong the bow handles are, but you could tie a Y between the handles and the mast base, long enough for the center knot to be comfortably below the water, then put your foot on the middle and stand up.

I tie a rope ladder to the Dolphin striker. AS you climb up the ladder, use the striker, then crossbar and mast to hoist upper body. It works well for us old farts.

My wife (5 ft tall) would climb up between the bows, just in front of the mast.

I wonder if you could pull the righting line forward (near the mast) and use the loop as a step?? If it's too long, just wrap it around the mast step a few times?? At least the mast and its stanchions give you something to grab?

I've also seen nylon strap "reboarding ladders" sold for PWCs through places like Overton's that might work?

Flipped on Sat with gusts 25-30kt and found it pretty easy to get back on. I weigh 220 lbs and did the following to get back on....

1. Once I hit the water, made sure I held something to hold to keep the boat from blowing away.

2. I felt the sheet around my legs and I made sure I was clear before moving.

3. Once clear, I moved around to the botton, keeping a hand on the boat at all times.

4. Then I turned the boat into the wind and grabbed the righting line.

5. I pulled on the righting line and once the boat was back up I moved a bit forward and grabbed the aframe and put my leg up on the boat in the back and rolled back on.

all this took about a minute and I was sailing again. Grabbing the aframe was key to getting back on.

When I was 50 pounds heavier I practiced in the pool. I positioned myself between the hulls at the bow and leveraged my left leg against the hull to shimmy up.
