Her second solo...please forgive the mast float...I didn't notice until it was too late that I installed it backwards...

Cute pictures :-) your daughter looks pretty competent!!

An aside: why is your hull plain white?? Mine's got "Hobie Bravo" plastered down the sides.....

The previous owner hauled it with a utility trailer with sides that scuffed up the decals. There are still black rubs marks along the sides of the hull that I can't clean and I've tried everything!!!!

The 'Puddle Pirate' just spent a week at sailing school and survived. It's a bit dirty and the mainsheet attachment assembly let go but otherwise all went well. My daughter's favourite activity was tipping the boat and getting her crew in the drink.

It's silly that the mainsheet attachment is covered with a plastic sleeve, it hides the corrosion of the pendant.

I saw it sitting there at the Shediac Marina. Was there on my scooter on Thursday. Amazing that the marina has raised the price for launching to $20.00, and $2.00 just to turn around at the wharf at the Blufff. That's progress I guess.

Marinas are high cost facilities in terms of maintenance and operating costs so I'm not surprised but the Bravo is so light that it can be easily launched from any beach.

Last night was the sailing school's awards banquet, my daughter completed CYA Levels I & II and she earned a trophy. Next year, both daughters will be enrolled hopefully for 4 weeks or so.

Can she right the Bravo by herself?

Nope, not a chance but perhaps with two kids of her size. When the Bravo was at the sailing school, the crash boat would help raise the mast while righting the boat....or an instructor would jump in the water to lend aid. She's never tipped it when I was along side her....thankfully. The problem is that most kids can't reach the righting lines to get the necessary leverage to right the boat....by pulling on the hiking straps from the bottom is pretty much useless as you can see in the second video found below.

Here are a couple of videos of a sailing school in France that uses the Bravo for training. Here's a chance to practice your French...bonne chance!

this is a problem for my boys. they go out together but every time it happens I am terrified that I will have to take my kayak and go rescue them. they spent their second summer on their Bravo, no accident this year yet but sailing on Long Islans Sound can be tricky sometimes.
I was asking this question before in my post viewtopic.php?f=42&t=8316
but not many people responded with acctual experience.

Do you know of anyone interested in buying my Bravo. Brand new, only in the water twice. I just don't have time to use it. Also have the trailer for it.
