First, thanks Matt and Jacques for the excellent customer service. I got to the Bogie and Bicall races as planned.

I met and enjoyed a long talk with Mark and noticed the new hatches on the Adventure with the forward hinge. My kayak, 2 monthes new to me, from KFS didn't come with these. Can they be ordered and retro-fit to my '05 Adventure? Really, all I'd replace would be the hatch in the cockpit.

Glad you were able to make the event!

We had hoped to do the transition to our new Hobie designed hatches during a model year change, but these are way to important not to get into production mid-season. The new hatches are way more water tight than the ones we had been buying. They also hinge, so stay with the boat and have a nicer none skid surface... they don't chew up your skin.

The 6" hatches use the same hole pattern, but we changed the pattern on the 8" so you can mount and change them again at 90 degree incrments. Due to the hinge feature some may want different angles (open up, down left or right).

The hatches will be:

71701 6" Twist-n-Seal hatch $35.00
71702 8" Twist-n-Seal hatch $45.00

We will be offering a retro package to dealers once we get the hatches on all of our boats in stock (by March).

Thanks Matt, sorry Treetop, I didn't get any pic's.

As clumsy as I am I can see myself losing a hatch cover overboard. The set-up I saw had the cockpit hatch opening away, and I liked it. One twist and open instead of two. The fit on the demo looked 100% better than on my adventure. I had to do a little sanding to get a good flush mount.
