Here are some ideas to toss around. :)
Looks like Pretty Beach is the easiest destination for the car shuffle. I will check this out further. It may be that Wagstaffe or Hardys Bay is a better destination.
From The Haven at Terrigal it is around 15km to Maitland Bay.

From Maitland Bay it is about 11km to Pretty Beach where I will leave a car for the shuffle back to Terrigal to get the other vehicles.

If conditions are good and we make great time this may also be an option

So lets discuss dates!
Sounds like it's easy enough for me and slaughter to fit in, so Chrisj when are you free?
CGM does this interest you?

The next two Saturdays are good for me, though I might be able to grab a weekday at a pinch.

I'm happy to go along with any arrangement, but here's one thought:
Patonga is further to sail and to drive, but it has the advantage that the boats can be pulled up onto the beach right opposite the beer garden of the Patonga Hotel, thus adding to the comfort of the brave volunteer who stays behind to watch the boats during the shuttle  .

Either option sounds good to me. I get what you're say'n Chris but the Hardys Bay finish would give the shorter car shuffle, and after either 25 or 35 k's of sailing I'd vote for the quicker drive and pack up time. Which ever option, I would like to go round Lion Island, just so that I can tick another circumnavigation off the list.

I think the Pretty Beach finish would save at least an hour and a half of driving, maybe more.
I can do this Saturday but I'm not sure about the weather?
Anyone else?

I'm keen for trip and available Sat - Tues. Coming from Syd and happy to go along with the flow.

Just need to know dates and times. I'll watch this space.

OK Dave. We're talking this Saturday, weather permitting. We'll need to determine the numbers to work out the best strategy for the car shuttle.

Well Stringy can carry several boats and I can carry two AI's at a pinch, using my J racks. I would suggest that Stringy and someone else (? me) meet at Pretty Beach, load my boat onto Stringy's trailer, then drive to Terrigal, leaving my car at Pretty Beach. My car seats 5. If anyone has a car that can carry more, that means we can accommodate more starters if necessary. We need to know how many boats are starting and whether Stringy is bringing a passenger.

Errrr, you don't think 7am at Terrigal might be a tad early, do you???
It's only a 26km sail, one way.

Also, the forecast seems to be for 6 to 8 foot waves on a southerly swell, which might make it a bit difficult negotiating the channel at Half Tide Rocks.
If the forecast remains for fresh southerly winds, maybe we should consider reversing the journey and sailing from Pretty Beach to Terrigal.
Also, if there is any difficulty negotiating the channel, at least we would encounter it at the beginning of the trip, rather than at the end.

It's extremely easy to convince me that a later start is a good idea. Just say the word. Also with an easier reverse downwind journey to Terrigal, I can trial my new FlexiBoom TM.
How bout we say, 'At sometime on Saturday we are going somewhere' and we will decide where and when on Friday arvo. I'm happy with that.

Hmmm... checking the forecast we are going to need to be flexible regarding this trip.
At the moment the swell is predicted to be 4-5m. Not the best for venturing outside. Those seas would make landing at Maitland Bay a challenge let alone getting there.
If this forecast is right then it may be better to postpone this trip and come up with an enclosed waters alternative. There will be plenty of opportunities for this trip over Summer when the Nor'easters kick in. :)
Suggestions on an alternative?

I think you're right, it's look'n pretty wild out there. How bout a Cowan Creek revisited trip, or are you blokes over it and want something different ? Should be enough wind there this time.
