Have not heard of it. We do not import their (yes) rotomolded cats to the US. This does look pretty cool though.

I wonder what those holes up on the bows are for?

Wow, looking at this pic was eerie...about a year ago my wife and I sketched out over lunch on a piece of paper the "ideal Hobie Getaway", mostly as a thought exercise, (we've owned one) & this looks incredibly similar...right down to the beveled hull deck edges (for lazy, more comfortable trapezing) and a shorter, more deeply angled skeg (to point better). Sort of like a "rotomolded" 17 centerboard.

I'm betting the holes up front are kind of like the surfboard handles you see. So it would be a hand hold for pulling the boat around at the shore / on the beach.

Nice looking boat. Now if it is 325lbs & one person can step the mast...

The holes in the bows might also be for a bow-spreader crossbar. The front trampoline crossbar looks to be round and about that diameter.

I went to Hobie euro website and could not find any info on the boat. Anyone found anything more about this boat, name or specs??

Mystery boat! Would guess it is not a Hobie except the emblem at the bow.

The "shack" behind it has french on it. "Experience Glisse" is some kind of surfing school in the Canaries or on the Basque coast?

Not 16' surely? Looks like a Pearl or a Max... but can't be. Got the horizontal ridges like the newer builds.

The holes are for lifting, like the indentions on the rear...

From the picture you can see 2 hobie logos, the hobie france on the stern, and a Hobie H insite a circle on the bow. It dosn't seem to have any trap wires, and looks like it has the ez-lock rudders. I would assume that the holes in the bow would be for carrying. I dont see a boom, but there is a mastrotater.

I'm french and living over here in France and I can bring you a few hints on these questions :
- first, this picture was shot in France at "La Rochelle", a city on the atlantic coast that hosts one of the biggest annual boatshows. The boatshow is named the "Grand Pavois" and attracted 104000 visitors for this September '10 edition.

- the boat shown here is a prototype of a Hobie Cat 16 by Hobie Cat France, codenamed HC16rt and the holes in the front hulls are handles to help for carrying/pulling the boat on beaches. This boat is aimed at sailing school where there are still a lot of hobie cat but a big competition from Dart.

The biggest boatshow over here is in December in Paris and it's 10mn from my home so I'll check the Hobie Cat stand and will take some shots.

At this boatshow was also displayed a nice multihull from an austrian company named "Smartkat' (www.smartkat.at) an inflatable multihull that fits in a suitcase...Look on their site, the video are amazing...
