You're referring to what some of the guys from the Netherlands called affectionately an "Up-f@$ker" as that's what you yell when the board sticks ad your tugging on the on the line! Anyway, I would do it in the middle of the board, high enough that the board comes up high enough for the downwind leg. I like my boards up high enough that they still fully fill the well down below. Keep in mind too that a good tug will send the board up higher than you want, so it takes practice to get it setup right. Good luck!

c.caliban...What year Tiger do you have? Does your boat have the snubbers or the older roller on bungie? The snubbers could interfere with this system. One idea is to epoxy/glass in a surfboard leash plug into the daggerboard as an attachment point for your UF...much cleaner than a thru hole. Typically you want to locate the plug on the board within the DB trunk and not have it extend below the keel. When you pull on the UF the board will only automatically raise to the point of the plug...so you need to decide how much you want to raise your boards. This system works well on the Capricorns...but it is another line/webbed strap that you will have to deal with on the tramp. Good luck.

In reality the older "roller" system would work best...there would be nothing to for the UF to hang up on (like the inboard snubber). You can also adjust the tension of the roller bungie to your liking. Be advised that you will get wear points on the inboard deck of your daggerboard wells...might wear through the gelcoat with continuous use. Note: the Capricorns have carpet lined trunks so this isn't really an issue for them until they have to replace the carpet. Good luck.
