I've seen on several sites an optional "upgraded pedal kit" for the Mirage kayaks. What is it? Does Hobie endorse it?

Thanks,
Wali

The news from Matt Miller on that from the KFS website was that production was temporaily halted and we shouldn't expect them till the first week of April....temporary bummer.

There is no such thing that I know of at this time. You may be referring to a new fin kit for the Mirage drive that consists of larger sail fins and mounting "masts". This is in pre-production and expected any time now from Hobie. It will be available through the dealer network.

I got a chance to sample these last November and was very impressed by the extra speed and power these fins generate! You can order them now, but will have to wait with the rest of us for their arrival! I believe the part # is 72065 and the price is about $79.95. 8)

Yes, indeed -- ordered a set last December as soon as the part # came out. I guess that puts me somewhere on the waiting list!

I did a short write-up on them last November:

The fins went on my "must have" list immediately. The Adventure was mearly an afterthought.
