Andy,

If I could get someone to pull my boat to Ft Lauderdale I'd be pretty excited too. I hope that works out for you. Congrats on your son's strong showing at the '20 NACs. You must be very proud!

Lauderdale, what a great site!!! The weather should be great also. Count me in. Daytona still has there Summer Sizzler late every summer also. Maybe one of the Fleet 80 guys could get it to be a Hobie regatta like the old days. Use to love that regatta!

What about midwinters west? Have any details been figured out as to dates and venue? What is the wind like at Lake Havasu in Late Feb. or March? Hope to see lots of west coast boats next year. Ryan

I think Ft. Lauderdale would be a great spot for the 2011 MWE! I need to plan my vacation schedule, can we get a firm date asap? Also, how is that oil spill on the gulf coast any further problems, how is the clean up going?

If and when we get MWE set up, it will be the last weekend in March (maybe a 3 day event POSSIBLY)

The Lake Havasu Mid Winters Regatta looks to be the 2nd weekend in March at this point.

The Hobie 16s and Waves might try doing what Dave Ingram is doing for the F18s. He's proposed a Winter Series of five events, including the Charlotte Harbor Regatta in February.

Pick several events, set a minimum number of ones to qualify for the points championship, get Hobie USA to sponsor a prize or three and there you go.

We had a dozen Hobie 16s here in Charlotte this past February and it sounds as if we'll be closer to 18-20 in 2011 (Feb. 3-6).

The 2011 Charlotte Harbor Regatta is shaping up to be a huge multihull event, with Wetas, F18s, F16s, Hobie 16s and Waves. We're looking at some 60 multis and would love to be part of the snowbird/winter series. I offered Dave Ingram a point series battle flag and extend the same offer for the H16s.

Go to www.charlotteharborregatta.com for more info.
