I just purchased a new fully battened Hobie jib and it does not have the jam cleat like my old jib. Did Hobie forget to add this or do I need to install one myself?

Kenny...
I think the new jibs are coming WITHOUT the cleat. New boats are now equipped with jib luff tensioners which tie-off at the jib tack shackle...eliminating the jam cleat on the jib. This is true on the Wild Cat...just not sure about the Tiger.
If you haven't already...install a luff tensioner on your Tiger. Then you can forget about the cleat.

Hey John thanks for the reply...Got a chance to race my new STX main and jib...wow quite a difference...I love them. We did a distance race (14) miles and I was 1st to finish ;p. I've seen some pics on how to install a jib luff tensioner, guess I'll give it a try. Anyone with some pics on how to install it would be great. Sent them to my [email protected]
