Just modified my PA seat. Went to walmart and added a 7 inch non swivel riser to the seat. All hardware matches perfectly. Only other expense was a couple of the bolts needed to be a little longer. PA is still very stable and I can access the tackle box easily as the seat is up and out of the way. This modification makes it much easier to stand up and the mirage drive still works perfectly. Im 6 ft and 240 and 60 years old so the added height makes it much easier on this old body. I will post a few pictures as soon I get a chance

Good concept Dawg. I was looking at moving my seat back just a little to make it easier to access the hatch straps. Your idea would also make it a little easier to reach the knobs to remove and install the seat.

Just curious about the 7" rise though. Seems like a lot. You say it's still very stable...did you notice any difference in stability or handling? Does it affect paddling ability any? I might try this with some spacers temporarily, experimenting with different heights.

I really like your idea. thanks for posting.

Good idea! Definitely looking forward to seeing your modification with the 7" riser!

I just added some spaces to the front bolts of the seat with a couple of rubber hose gaskets and a couple of 3/4 washers. It lifted the front seat just perfectly for better access to my tackle.

It is still very stable. Guess you could cut the riser down and weld back together if 7 inch is to much. Cost was $14..Check west marine they may have a shorter extension. Nice part is the bolt patterns all match up. I use a side mounted trolling motor about 50% of the time. Steering is a little loose but I just called Hobie and am getting the steering modification sent out for that. Hope that helps some of the constant course corrections. Love this boat. Best I ever purchased

Would a swiveling seat be bad? Is there room to swing around?

Modifications that contribute directly to a failure could be an issue with warranty, but the warranty is not void. Raising the seat may cause excessive loads on attachment fittings if you push back on the seat.

I store a few plastic bait boxes on each side of the seat. Might not be able to swivel with the sides filled with fishing supplies. "?"

I too would like to see pictures of the seat adapter... Please. Maybe post a website where you have the picts stored with the public can view?? Thanks

Decided to try the seat modification. Worked out well. Easy to install. Very comfortable, easy to stand , extra storage under the seat.
The main drawback is that it changes your peddling angle. It doesn't feel as efficient. If you like a long stroke , the back of your legs are stopped by the front edge of the seat. Plan on trying to change the seat angle with a seat cushion.

Any chance... ANY that you might be kind enough to put some photos of this great idea, so others can see it? Thank you in advance.
