Understanding that the PA is not a sailboat, nor was it intended to be a sailboat, the sail kit does add another dimension to an already incredible boat.
I built a new mast from carbon fiber to increase the stiffness in that area - the diameter of the mast where it inserts into the hull is the limiting factor in terms of stiffness of course, but it you're willing to spend a few more dollars you can improve on the factory aluminum mast.
All in all I thought it sailed fairly well for what it is. On a close haul I've done 6.2mph in a pretty good wind and even though the boat rolled heavily I never felt that it was going to overturn or dump me out. A pretty forgiving "sailboat" all in all.
With the ability to furl the sail, it's a nice addition to the boat and one I highly recommend for anybody that wants use their PA beyond a strictly fishing purpose.
