The Hobie Mid Winters East will be held in Fort Lauderdale this year and we expect typical beautiful South Florida conditions. The event will be put on by CAT 44 and we are planning a great event. Dates are March 25-27 with late registrations being accepted Friday night and Saturday morning on site.
View the site on our webcam and get some info about sailing in Fort Lauderdale.
This will be true ocean sailing at its best!
This weekend will also include the 100th birthday of our great City of Fort Lauderdale! There will be plenty for everyone to with a street party and fireworks Sunday evening just a couple of blocks inland.
All information can be found at http://www.cat44.com for the regatta and cityoffortlauderdale.gov for the centennial events.
There will be a couple of boats available for charter, contact Steve Voeller - email [email protected], boats are in great racing shape.

FYI HCA-NA is VERY excited that Cat44 is putting on a points regatta in the form of the Mid Winters event in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale. Cat44/Hobie Fleet 44 has a long and rich history with the HCA and I for one, am THRILLED that Div 8 is hosting 2 points regattas this spring. Kudos to Arie Van Durjen Div 8 Chair for getting is div fired up.
This will be one of those unique events (100th Anniversary) that if you have the means to be part of it, please do.
I have become aquainted with Steve Voeller, who is chairing the regatta, and he is (to say the least) excited about this deal and is going waay over the top to make sure its an awesome experience.
PLEASE make every effort to preregister and attend. Some of The IWCA Waves (led by Capt Jack) are planning on attending so if you have access to a Wave, you'll have plenty of good company to race with.
Looking forward to a 50plus boat regatta
Thanks
cw

The general way:
Go to http://www.regattanetwork.com
Click on "Calendar" at the top.
Scroll down until you see the event.
Click on "View Registrants"

The direct way:
http://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/ ... port_id=33

Note that will only show the people that have signed up through Regatta Network. Others may send in the paper form available on the CAT44.com website.

More great news for the Mid Winters East. The local Hobie Dealer has stepped in and is our primary sponsor. They have also donated a new Hobie Revolution Kayak for the raffle (value $1,800) Way to go Nautical Ventures!!!

I have tried to Pre-register a few times and it will not allow me to. The site asks for valid HCa member #, Which I have and put it in the form and I keep getting this reply

There was a problem with your registration:

•A valid Hobie Class Association - North America membership is required for registration.

Please click the back button to make any changes, or click here to purchase/renew your Hobie Class Association - North America Membership.

Any help would be appreciated

T

TK - make sure you're using the correct member number.

You're 144; Susan is 143.

Also, it requires an exact match on the name, so if you put in "Tom Korz" instead of "Thomas Korzeniewski", it will bounce out.

Let me know if you're still having problems & I'll get RN tech support involved.
