 Post subject: large soft spot repair

Looking at a 16', has very large soft spots in front of pylons, most of the area in front of pylon is soft, good deal on boat. I can do repair work including fiberglass, what do you guys think ?

We are all going to tell you that it sounds like a doable job and to do a search on this forum for delamination (delam) repair.

There is a ton of knowledge here about this subject. Look in the FAQ section and you will see illustrated instructions on how to do this repair.

On a trip to the local Wal mart i see Devcon now has an epoxy that comes in a syringe that has a mixing tube so it come out ready to use. A simple arrangement but pricy but may work in some applications

That can be a tough repair when the whole bow is involved. I would stay away from that boat unless you are very confidant in your repair abilities. Do not sail it in conditions / areas where a bow failure could place you in jeopardy.
