Hi. Just received an ATD-10511 shop polisher from Amazon today to detail my Getaway. The polisher came with a 7" back up velcro disc. Amazon suggests using 6.5" a polishing pad. Shouldn't the pad be 7" also? Thanks.

I'm not sure you can do anything to a Getaway with that. Polyethylene doesn't polish.

It won't polish and the harder you try the better chance you'll end up burning your hull. Polyethylene is much softer than Polyester so even if you could get a shine on it, it wouldn't hold it more than one use.

I purchased the polisher mainly for our vehicles. No problem if we can't use it on the Hobie. As I mentioned on another thread, I am having difficulty removing black smudges that appeared under the tarp over the winter...

The black is probably from the rain. Try "softscrub with bleach".

YES, TRIED MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER. IT GOT SOME OF THE SMUDGE OFF BUT NOT ENTIRELY.

STILL LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS.

PURCHASED SOFT SCRUB WITH BLEACH TODAY. WILL TRY THIS WHEN WE RETURN FROM VACATION FRIDAY 5/20.
