I just got my PA last friday and I am having problems getting it to click in, especially if the Yak is on the trailer, any advice?

Thanks Matt, I have been using the mirage drive for two years now and have had trouble time to time... This post explains what I was doing right most of the time, but on occasion could not get the drive in without multiple tries... Now I have a mental pict in my head and might not have the problems again.... Thanks again for the help.

It's much easier to put the drive in on land while taking off the car/truck/trailer as long as you bungee one pedal back so the fins are flat to the bottom and remember not to drag the boat with the hull flat on the ground. So much less pressure to get the drive in correctly and seeing what is wrong then, instead of during a launch with a shore break, current, obstacles and/or traffic.

Then, with this experience, it makes it much easier to install correctly on the water when necessary. After the first 100 times, it gets easy. :)

I talked to the local Hobie Pro Staff guy and explain the situation. He actually came to my house and spent 10 - 15 minutes with me explaining/ showing me how to install the mirage drive, This is support that I have never gotten from any other Kayak dealer.

 WOW  That is going way beyond customer service. Give that man an employee of the month award. OR the company he works for.
