Major bummer.

Had you done any of the suggested hull reinforcements - upgraded anchor bars, fiberglass patch inside hull?

O man, so sorry that happened.

Dittos on SRM's question. Also, was the hull a redline hull? Mine is an '84 but the second month of that production run and for some reason it did not have the telltale redline.

It had the anchor plates but I did not know about any hull reinforcement technics. The foam looks dark yellow not red so I dont think it was a redline boat I tapped the hulls all over even now there does not appear to be a soft spot. I still say that was one of the best boats I have owned every trip out was better then the last even this day before it snapped I was very impressed with the way it cut thru the surf.
Questions
Can someone clarify the years involved with this hull problem as 3 people have told me 84-88? I thought it was 86-88?
I dont care about the weight would a 82 set of hull be stronger?
Where is the H18 hull reinforcement info at on the forum?

A 1982 model should be solid.

My first 18, and Clint Ellis' 18 (both 1982 models) only weighed five and six pounds over minimum (weighed at Nationals)
