I received this last night and there are no instructions. I know it's pretty self explanatory but is there a recommended amount of adhesive to use? Also is there a preferred location, or a place NOT to install? I don't want to hinder the folding process in any way.

Thanks.

You have the right idea now! WING IT :P you should not have to worry to much...they are small fixings...you will not need much adhesive at all. follow the instructions on the glue bottle. if you want to make sure they to not interfere when folding...fold your kayak up and see where the contact points are. damages will come from hard objects pressing against hard objects.
