No Forum for 'Island Images and Islands as a Photography Platform' should at least start with the gear we use, either Still and/or video.
Here's a UK site that rates Action cams quite fairly (considering they sell all of them:http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/
For motion, personally I use an Oregon Scientific ATC9K. (I asked for it as a Christmas present, thanks Hon.)
It features a tiny footprint, IR remote control, a hefty amount of supplied mounts. It also offers a 'sort of useful' optional GPS module that can trace your path as you travel and shoot. It also has an HDMI out with a supplied cable, plus a tiny 1.75" dia. built in rear monitor.
Imaging quality is not as high as the GoPro, imo
Still image quality is good not great.
The all plastic construction makes me a bit nervous sometimes. It may be drop 'proof' but I'd rather not play Basket ball with it.
Please let us know your 'weapon (s)' of choice.
