A lot of folks here seem to have no trouble with this, so maybe I can get a few hints as to how it works. I tried to upload a 670 mb HD seven minute clip by dragging the clip over and into the upload box. When I did this, it indicated that it would take about five hours. After an hour or so, it timed out at about 19% complete.

Thanks,

Ted

I can't say for sure that this is what's happening, but it's a place to start.

First, if you lose internet connection, there's a chance that might stop your download, even if it's just for a little bit.

Second, check your computer's settings. If the computer is set to go to sleep, that could be your problem. On some computers, the energy saving settings put the hard drives to sleep after a set time. On a mac, you can set this to a set time or to "never".

I'd start with that. If I think of anything else that's obvious, (other then some computer or internet problem) I'll add to this post.

Upload times are also directly affected by the speed of your internet connection. If you have not run a speed test to see what your actual upload and download speeds are, try http://www.broadband.gov/qualitytest/

I had this happen to me before, it is usually related to the format of your video, try saving it in a different format like .mov or .wmv. Can't rule out plane old internet problem.

I suspect a format issue as well. My internet is high speed and seems to be running fine. I have no trouble uploading from the camera to my computer or down loading anything else. I know the computer goes to sleep, but it shouldn't take that than long to up load a 7 min video.

I guess I'll have to figure out how to change the format. Thanks,

Ted

If you are using windows xp you have installed windows movie maker by default, open your video there, then look for the option create movie or something like that, there you can choose your format.

good luck
