I'm planning on taking 2 friends out tomorrow at Eagle Creek. Does anyone know where there is a good place to launch from? I don't have cat trax so I would need to be able to get the trailer there. Thanks in advance.

Zach,
You want to launch your 16 at the boat ramp by Rick's cafe (south end of the lake by the damn)and than when you want to take a break, just sail onto Hobie Beach. You will see it from the water. The launch cost isn't too much and you will be right on the lake instead of being way back in the cove where the private sailing club is.
See you there,Bill 404 21SE :D

We didnt make it out this weekend. We're shooting for next Saturday. I'm new to Hobie sailing so I'm just figuring things out. 20 mph winds would be at my upper limit for sure.

How many other cats sail at Eagle Creek?

Zach,
You missed some good wind and good times with the very friendly catamaran sailor on Eagle Creek. The Hobie Beach has over 30 catamaran on the beach. That would be the place to sail from if you become a member. You just leave your 16 on the beach and it is ready to go.Dawn to dusk is the parks hours. There were at least a dozen sailing last weekend,a real nice group of people.
I am not a member as I like to go to many different places and like my boats in my backyard under cover.
Eagle Creek Sailing Club, different from Hobie beach,is having a regatta in two weeks and that should be a blast. The club is nice and the people too.Check it out, they have a web site for more information.
Good day,Bill 404 21SE

I just looked at the ramps on google earth. Is there a beach of some kind to set up the boat next to the ramp or does everyone do it at the ramp?
