Does anyone know where i can find wing end caps, I have spoken with a hobie dealer in the states and they have said that this part is no longer available. I need 3 of them. If the are not available anymore, has anyone used anything else as a fix.

Your dealer was correct. No longer available. Last were shipped in July.

I think you could cut a thin circle of pvc plastic and throw them in the tubes .that is basically what the factory does

The wing caps are actually a total of 1 1/4" tall, with a 1 3/4" round I.D. for the insert part of the cap that is 1" long.So 1" goes inside the leg tubing and the base piece is just under 2" round on the outside(1/4" exposed). Not really a flat piece.
Any machine shop could cut you new ones out of some bad azz high tech plastic.Be sure to have an extra set cut for your spare parts box. :D
Build a relationship with a machine shop and they can help you maintain your catamaran.I have repaired some Hobie 18 wing legs with parts custom cut at my local shop and they did a great job on the inserts that beefed up the stressed out tubing without trimming off the lower 3/4" of the leg tubing that was falling apart.I did use an aluminum epoxy like product to fill in the missing aluminum. This two part epoxy is designed to be use on airplanes and my buddy swears by it.He builds helicopters in his spare time....
Good luck,Bill 404 21SE 8)

The real question is how did you lose the plugs I had one come loose in the tube and it took days for me to fish it out. I still think a piece of plastic in the hole would work there is not much down force on the part most of the strain is in the bent part of the alumniun wing support

If truth be told i didn't know they were there until one Had fallen out in the socket and when we put the wings back in the next time, it wouldn't go all the way home and thats when i fished one out. We rescued this boat so before pulling it out of its grave we knew absolutly nothing about them. Just that it looked cool and had to have a go. 4 years of looking later we did.

I use a shop vac. with a 3/4" PVC pipe inserted in the hose and wrap my hand around the tube and pipe, the caps are out in seconds! I used this method to suck out and sand and water before the winter freeze. The next step is to buy 4 expanding pipe plugs that are 2" in diameter and then buy 2 rubber sewer pipe union couplers cut them in half and insert them over the expander pipe plugs. They fit perfectly in the holes for the wing tubes and they are now sealed for the winter.
