I have bought and returned all kinds of fishing crates and bags before landing on this idea. Two crates mounted together on a platform that allows for use across the kayak. This allows for much more storage and still leaves room between the crates and the rudder for anything else you might need.

One crate holds my ice chest, CamelBak hydration system, anchor, etc. The other holds tackle boxes and all fishing tools as well as the battery for my fishfinder.

Hope this is of use for someone.

I can see all the images fine, that's a brilliant setup! Very nice work.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of boxes etazeta used in his setup? Could they be soft-sided ice chests? I've emailed him, but so far no reply.

They are actually milk crates with the PrecisionPak CratePak slip on Cover. It comes with an integrated 3-rod holder that uses the rigidity of the milk crate to provide the support to hold the rods upright. I use one myself and find that is holds plenty. You can find them in a variety of places but here is a link to get you started......

Those look like PrecisionPak CratePaks to me. Their website seems to be defunct. Several other similar products out there, like Crate Mate.
