Sorry mate. Hey glad to hear that you are on the mend but please don't post a pic of the scar.

What's your plans this summer mate ? Are we going to catch up at the 1/2 way point again ? I'd love to get back to JB this summer.

Could be a goer. I agree - fantastic location. Are you thinking Honeymoon Bay again or ???? If it's HB, I won't be bringing the mouse house! That road in is just too rough
I would expect some of the gang from down here might be interested too.
I'll raise it at the campfire pow-wow when we go on our first trip - shouldn't be too long now :D

Sounds great. We might get a higher number for up this way as well this year. No real thoughts yet on location. I'm as open as ever to options. But I'm sure you will agree, Honeymoon Bay should be in there somewhere either as a campsite or lunch spot.

I really liked this photo titled........

Mate,
You've got an AI and they don't really need a rudder replacement.
As one of the first TI adopters I'm hoping the replacement program is based on first in, first served (upgraded)!
I'd be up for JB again and Broughton is a must do. The 5 guys from work (as featured in the slomo clip) are keen to get to Broughton as well. As I sold my second AI I'm thinking of launching from Sandy Point and shuttling them over.
PS- Good to hear you're back on deck Mickey.

G'day Stringy & thanks for best wishes.
I reckon I'll be 100% the day I have fitted my new rudders :D
I'd be keen to do JB and Broughton again - if they fit in with existing plans. I think we are going to have a big AI season down here. The gang has grown substantially and we go out on 1 - 3 day o/nite camping/fishing trips on the Gippsland Lakes. We are also looking at Lake Tyers and other destinations like Mallacoota & Two Fold Bay (Eden).
I think I could be talked into doing the Tassie trip - island hopping. I have read several sea kayakers logs and they give me reassurance that we could do it, with good preparation & planning. My neighbour has a 40ft classic wooden boat he has restored and has stated he would go as our mothership. I think my dutch sailing mate would be in it too, however the remainder have said they will fly/ferry and meet us at the other side

I know I will have my confidence in the yaks restored with the new rudders installed. I really haven't used the TI enough to feel totally confident in it - particularly in relation to its structural strength.

Good to chat - look forward to hearing more about the trips.
Happy Hobie-ing

Slaughter,
What a beautiful photograph! (Mickey on Murrays). The water looks so amazingly clear and inviting, I'm jealous. This picture should be in the photo contest for sure, it's a real winner!

By the way... what's that out in the ocean?... a couple of Great Whites waiting for lunch? :o  :?

I got mine last wednesday fellas, I 'm on the Sunshine Coast Queensland AUS.
Does not seem much bigger in size but everyone else so far says it's the goods.
I will fit it on the weekend (I know I'm slow).

It is the same size... shape, but has a much thicker foil.
