Stroke of luck, the company I work for sent a few of us on the company dime to a regatta in Trinite sur Mer, France last week. The race included 98 boats (we were sailing a Beneteau First 31.7). We had 30+ winds and the sailing was awesome. But that is not the bragging part of this story.......
On the second day, all the boats were slowly motoring out to the starting area. I saw some sailors pointing at three boats in the distance - they all had green sails with a pink stripe. They were screaming fast across the bay and drawing a lot of attention. They looked amazing. A crew mate (I had just met him the day before, he came from Seattle) asked "What kind of boats are those?" I smiled and said "Those are Hobie 16's, and if you ever come to Los Angeles, I will take you for a sail on mine."
