 Post subject: Hull buffing?

So it's been covered on here fairly extensively that there is no filler material that works on roto-molded hulls. What is the technique employed to buff out minor scrapes, barnacle dock rash, ect? Any way to buff it out, (possibly by gentle heating, etc?), or are you pretty much limited to just scraping it as flat as possible?

I have not tried this but it might be possible to shave the bad areas. Try one of those shavers people use on their feet.
I have tried sanding and buffing, and also a propane torch it just makes a huge mess.
