I was planning on it, but not I don't think I'm going to make it now. I'm feeling overly poor...

It was a great regatta last year.

Yeah, unfortunately. I'm in the Keys right now, I'll need to be at home to get a pile of work done around that time.

Trust me, I'd like to hit Charlotte Harbor, and do the NOODs at Davis Island two weeks later, but I need to work once in a while....

Karl, are you in Islamorada with the Vipers? If so, I'd love to talk to you. Please send me a PM. Thanks!

I also will be sailing in the Charlotte Harbor Regatta.

I was hoping to do tradewinds also, but I am doing a bottom job on my boat right now, so it won't be ready for tradewinds. Let me know if anyone needs a crew for tradewinds, or has an extra H16 available.

Stuf4toys, i live in SW Florida myself and have been looking for other hobie sailers as well. Count me in for a fleet in our area.

The Charlotte Harbor Sailing Association has small boat races on the 2nd & 3rd Saturdays and on Wednesdays. They have several old, non Comptip 16's. They will be happy to give us a start. Probably a real short course, but that makes for real good practice. If we could get a steady fleet of 5 boats and join the Punta Gorda Sailing Club we might be able to lobby them for inclusion in their series. I crew on a Stiletto for the Race Captain. He can be easily lobbied.

My Hobie 16 is also a non "comptip" boat. Just finishing a delamination issue and starting on the hull gelcoat. So far the only Hobiecat I have been on is the Sailing Center's Wave. BIG FUN, gave me the ambition to finish my H16.

I know Pete well and am a club member too. john Lange "High Voltage" the H16 will be called "Static Electricity"

Unfortunately, an old boat with rebuilt hulls, plastic rudders and old sails is not competitive. My boat is an 1984 with Super Rudders and new sails in 2005. At the Hibiscus Cup I had horrible starts but won 4 of the 5 races on boat speed.
And I was sailing with a guy that had never sailed before.
My brother willl be happy to act as commitee boat on Sundays. Maybe I'll get my daughter to come back to crewing.

The Sailing Center's Banana Boat is being preped for CHR now. I'm sure Ken would be happy to continue sailing it if you have a venue Jack.

I stopped by and wrapped the halyards so they stopped clanking.

There is a 1 race exemption for not having a Comp Tip. How about the tramp?

Sailing it for fun or racing?
