Havng three braceball positions is a fast and cheap way to see if this works to trim the boat. Extending the brace bar (for the forward rake) is a better engineering choice, but less practical.

I would not advise changing the "rake" angle of the akas. Fore or aft of square to the crossbars will stress the fittings in a way they were not intended.

Dont know how the new knuckle Aka joints would like it.

It's gonna stretch the bungees and attatchment points for sure.

Where I was thinking of trying this would be when going downwind with the swell where the aka/ama are least stressed. I have the original pin aka.
Still worth a try I reckon! :)

I wreckon

Awesome. Bringing a camera crew?

Watch that the bungees dont jump off. I recall that did some serious Ama damage when they twisted around while in flight.

The GF had a failure of that bolt on her first trip out.
Granted, she may have had no idea one her first solo run what she did wrong but it broke. They are DESIGNED to break to prevent costly damage!
I bought 20 spares through my dealer and we split them in half. Spares are carried on-board at all times. I broke one docking. I missed the bungee and was going too darn fast. 1min fix and back out
