Severe weather early warning electronics

I expect to have an AI this year, so I'm staring to gear up. What electronic devices are y'all using, if any, to notify you that severe weather is heading your way, or you to it.

I also plan to buy a VHF radio, but anticipate that it will be stowed in a dry bag in the off position until needed, unless the VHF sends out warnings. If the VHF does send out weather warnings, how do you mount it so it stays dry and can still be heard. Thanks.

Just get a waterproof/floating VHF. They almost all do weather warnings these days. No dry bags required. Just check the specification because "Waterproof" has many definitions. Look for one that has been tested to IPX-8 standards. Most have a clip on them so you can just wear it.

For information:
IPX-6 Protected against heavy seas - Water projected at all angles through a 12.5mm nozzle at a flow rate of 100 liters/min at a pressure of 100kN/m2 for 3 minutes from a distance of 3 meters. (I would call this "splash-proof")
IPX-7 Protected against water immersion - Immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter.
IPX-8 Protected against water submersion - The equipment is suitable for continual submersion in water under conditions which are identified by the manufacturer.
