The top of my 2012 AI, the textured part is beginning to fade quite noticeably.

Its kept in a garage, and less than two months old, what do I do?

Wipe it with 303 or Hobie UV Protectant regularly and relax.

Wingnutt :
If your boat is a yellow boat, then you have a real problem (just kidding)

And if you live in Oregon (where the sun never shines (..AKA..Twilight Saga movies)) you might have a problem (still kidding)

I had a 2007 Oasis that was red and never had any fading even though it sat on the roof of my car through several summers as we traveled the country.

Normally Hobie has pretty darn good UV protection in their plastics, however you may have an anomaly, or the boat was molded from a bad batch of plastic (it can happen). I would definately take date marked pictures over a period of time and inform your dealer to the possible problem. If the boat is mostly garage kept and is still fading you definately have an unusual problem that Hobie will address. They need to know about this as it may be an issue with the plastic supplier supplying Hobie a bad batch of plastic.
I've had quite a few Hobie Mirages since 2007 and have yet to see fading of any kind on any Hobie Mirage boat I have ever seen. (thats saying a lot in Florida where the sun shines 360 days a year on average (sunshine state))
Please post pictures, most of us would like to see it just because we are curious.

Just don't build em like they used to. (Kidding)

Sounds reasonable that this could happen from time to time with the different cooking batches. Because of the materials and process, every hull is unique in some way.

Keep an eye on things to see if the plastic becomes brittle or develops stretch marks.

WD 40 is the cheapest/best coating to renew the deep red color. It's amazing -but it's temporary and the boat may become hard to handle.

Aero 303 is an $$$ but great way to protect plastic between outings. It's good for the sail too.

I'm kind of an expert in this area. My old sail disintegrated and my AI hull was famous for its tan lines.
