I thought I hit jackpot the other day;
Someone bought a Hobie 18 the other day for approx USD 3,125 with the intention of stripping it (they only kept 2 x hulls and front and back crossbar) and converting it into a floating platform of sort with motor (will get pictures later) so that he could go up-river and take wild life pictures etc.
So I bought all the left over items for USD 500 (mast, boom, 2 x sail sets, rudders, dagger boards, trampoline, all fittings etc).
Certainly a good price especially the jewel being the mast if at all I was ever to break something and required replacement.
So he was in a far away city and instructed his driver to collect everything and place the mast on top of his vehicle and deliver to the transport company.
Cutting a long story short and not familiar with the length of mast, the driver drove into a wall and broke the mast in half.
C'est la vie.
