Well... it is a Hobie 14 and the bows are small. You can try to avoid a pitch opole in a number of ways. Mast Rake aft, weight aft, Control the power by sheeting out in puffs, use the traveler... travel down in windy conditions. The bows are short and the rig is powerful.
The foot strap in the rail should be no problem. If you are using it, you would be powered up and not in the water dragging your foot, except between puffs!
