Looking for four taper pins for a Hobie 21 se or one pin that someone could lend me. I would bring it to a machine shop to get the measurements and then I would have pins fabricated. Will return your pin within one week.

Kathy,

Couldn't you measure what you currently have and take it to a machine shop to make new ones a little bit bigger? Be sure to measure the hole sizes in the rack.
Most machine shops want to build "a run" of four pieces, have them make five and you will have a spare. They could cut one and let you try it out and adjust from there. Machinists know their trade and they will know what you want.

My machinist buddy builds me things often and at a fair price.

Once you figure it out, let us know and perhaps others will order with you. :D

I can provide you accurate measurements that a machinist can use, but mine are the original small ones. I'm not sure those are what you want.

The next time mine give me any trouble I intend to drill them out and put in some SS bolts. I have quit removing the taper pins to trailer and instead travel large and wide This makes a much faster and easier setup. I used to feel guilty about the width until i measured my 24' Hydra Sport and it is about 2" narrower than my wide 21SE. I have trailered wide for 10 years and only trailer in the daylight NEVER had any problems NEVER had a problem with law enforcement Many Motor boats are wide mine included I pull it to Key West and back 1000 miles each way. I usually pull my hobie to EDISTO ISLAND which is 500 miles round trip
This is just my opinion I have even thought of epoxy for the tubes

I don't think the pins have been out of my boat since I assembled it. The only trouble I've had (not really trouble-just a little worrisome) was the toll gates in Jacksonville, Fla. They seemed like they were narrower than anywhere else I've seen.
