I want to go to a lot of events this year, but have an issue with my two masts.

The mast I have with a comp-tip has decent corrosion around the mast rotator.
And the mast I have that is perfect has no comp-tip. If I show up with no comp-tip mast will anyone say anything?

Also I don't want to switch the comptip around because the all alum mast turtles slower and I like to live the by the motto, if it ain't broken don't fix it.
Ill show up with both masts anyway.

Some insight please?

No worries !!! Get that cat on the water! Already have someone with a solid mast in the group,no one seems to really care.Div.2 is a great group of people. I really hate the comp tip B.S. Wish I had a solid mast to.......

I sailed last year in div 2 and 3 with a solid mast. Everyone was very supportive and they really didn't mind. But.....things might have been different if I had been passing them (but that wasn't an issue last year).

I wouldn't waste my time with the other mast especially if the corrosion has made it unsafe. The only place you will be called on it will be at the Nationals in Mojavi if you plan on racing there.

The 18s are growing. Please bring your boat out!

Hello jmecky,
First can you post a picture or the corrosion?

Does your comp tip mast have the reinforcement plates mounted to the mast around the mast rotator bolt?

Bring it out with either mast and sail it like you stole it!!!

Show up and race with either mast, and if you start winning races we'll handicap you by surreptitiously unscrewing hull plugs, loosening shroud ring dings, and slicing tramp lacing only 4/5ths of the way through, that way you won't worry about having the right mast.
