Revo or Adventure?

stk that's what I am afraid of. I am principally an angler who fishes from a kayak and agree that the Outback is a superb fishing platform. I have owned enough paddle yaks to appreciate that. The only feature that really bugs me is its poor manners into wind and chop - that is the constant spray it throws up. I am going to try the suggestion of putting a dry bag of water into the bow to see if that cuts down on the pounding. In all the speed comparisons I have seen between yaks the Outback isn't hugely behind the others, particularly in relation to the distances I typically cover.

Tom Kirkman remarked that the Revo is at least as wet as the Outback - its just that darned pounding!!!

Oh well I am in no rush to make a decision - maybe all I have to do is convince Anne, (my wife), that she needs a Revo 13 rather than her Sport.

I have owned 4 Adventrues, 3 Revos and 1 Oasis.
I have used several Outfitters as well. (Never tried an Outback at all)
I primarily fish open ocean and some back bay water.

I can say that on open water I would hands down use my Adventue.
If I get into anything requireing tight turns, the Revo13 wins out.

I just did the Louisiana tournament this past weekend for the first time in my Revo and in those waters, my Revo was MUCH easier to handle than my Adventure ever was. Length was the issue in those small grassy channels.(sailing rudder is outfitted on all my boats)

As far as weight goes, the Revo13 seems to be MUCH easier to handle.
The Adventure is quite a bit heavier IMHO.

A really good all around choice would be the Revo13 I'd say.

In case anyone reads the above and decides to try it with the Hobie dry bag - DONT I did and ended up with most of the contents of the dry bag in sloshing around inside the hull. Should have read the disclaimer on the bag, its waterproof not water tight!

On a more positive note I 3/4 filled the dry bag with sand and this seems more promising. Haven't hit any really foul conditions yet. Only problem is my OB now weighs nearly as much as a Proangler 12 with its load of sand on board
