I would like to install a 5" waterproof hatch in our 16 Hobie, does anyone know where the best location would be? Are there any inside supports in the hulls?

Anywhere aft of the forward pylons is OK. Halfway between the forward pylon and the shroud is a good spot. There are no internal hull supports other than the pylons. There is also a large foam flotation block inside the hulls between the pylons which will somewhat limit what you can fit in the hull.
