My wife has the Outback I watched her move about hands free, drinking water, waving at people and just looked really comfortable. I was on a 12 foot Ocean Kayak rental. I was jealous. We swapped kayaks so I could see what it was like. I really enjoyed it and look forward to fishing from a kayak. However, I wont always be fishing and I did not think that the Outback was very responsive while paddling (i would both paddle & or peddle depending on mood & adventure).
To late for a long story short. I think I would like the Hobie Adventure 16' or the Revolution 13. We live in North West Florida on the coast. Any thoughts on the PRO's and CON's of the Adventure 16' versus the Revolution 13.

If you do some research you will find that there are many threads on this forum comparing and contrasting these two boats. They are both great and much better paddling kayaks than the OB.

Its largely a question of maneuverability vs. hull speed and extra storage. If you want to do big days or touring, then the hassle of a longer boat (namely car topping and storage) will likely be worth it.

That said, my stepfather has an 13, and its remarkably capable for a long day out, and quite fast (with turbo fins). Impressive boat!

Thank you both for your replies. They make sense and I will continue to look into the two boats. As I said I like them both but what cuases me to question the better boat is most of my friends and aquaintances tell me "the longer the boat the better for overall speed and handeling on open water". I've also heard that the Revolution 13 handles better than the Hobie Adventure. I guess it comes down to preference. Thanks again.
