For anyone that has the Torqeedo or Hobie Evolve and has tried both prop styles, which do you prefer and why?

I have the Torqeedo UL kayak unit and use the standard "elephant ear" prop. I notice that Hobie supplies a different one with their Torqeedo unit. I could buy and try, but these things are almost a hundred bucks!

Any comparison notes on speed and battery life would be appreciated. Thx.

The isn't much difference in performance between the two. The reason our design is different is purely for it to fit into the Mirage Drive well opening. When we tested our design against Torqeedo's while we were developing our kit, we found there to be little difference in performance between them. I wouldn't think you'd want to go out and buy another prop unless you had the Hobie eVolve kit - since your Ultralight doesn't use the Mirage well opening, so it wouldn't be needed really.
