I went on vacation to Playa Del Carmen a few months ago and was exposed to cat sailing, a hobie wave. I am now totally obsessed with cat sailing and need to find a used Hobie 16 in the Pacific Northwest. I'm actually from the southern interior of British Columbia but there are so few 16's up here I am looking in the USA.

I'm looking for a well maintained 16 that is basically ready to sail. I would like to pay around $1000 and it must have a trailer to get it back to BC.

Please, I can't stop dreaming of cat sailing and I'm looking to purchase soon. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

My email is [email protected]

PS. This is a great forum!

You want to spend 1000$, hows 300$ sound. You could spend the difference on gas, and hotel rooms, and spend a day sailing in San Diego in some warmish waters.

Id would have bought this boat, but I just don't have space for two cats.

Thanks very much for the info. I think i may have a lead on a boat a little closer to home, although the sound of warm southern Cali waters is rather appealing!

Cheers!

I have a Hobie 16 on Lake Whatcom, Bellingham, WA, in great condition. It has all new running rigging and ready to sail, race. It has Tequila Sunrise sails in good condition. I want $1000 for the boat There is no trailer so you would have to borrow a trailer to transport the boat home. Gus Hodge

Hi NWSawbones,

Thanks for the offer but I found one in Winthrop, Washington. Brought it home last weekend and am having a blast!

Thanks for the info and I'm sure you'll sell it quickly.

Cheers!
