Just curious how you all store your catch while on the water fishing for stripers, fluke, blackfish (when in season) in your yak. Does anyone use stringers when in the ocean, or river, or do you use a cooler or bag with ice?

With blues running, would the catch be in jeopardy of getting chomped or is keeping them fresh and alive a good alternative? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I use the smallest catch bag charkbait has. http://charkbait.com/cs/csdKillBags.htm

This bag is easy to clean and light in weight.

I also use large safety pin style clips that divers use for their catch. I use the clip to bleed out the catch first before placing it in the bag.

I use a cooler bag. I am afraid that a gator or shark would get my catch on a stringer. A good cooler bag will keep your catch cold without attracting predators.

Sea lions are the problem here - even 100 miles upriver from the ocean.

I think that sea lion has done that before. Might be the same one on the American river that boarded me without permission to look around my bass boat at 2 AM. It almost got a 10 rnd mag of 50 Beowulf, till I calculated the jail time.
