I have a long Revo and the seat that came with it starts to really bug me after 4 or more hours of pedaling. Anyone with the same problem? what did you do to resolve it? Any aftermarket seats or jell pads you would recommend?

Thanks!

I had that problem the first couple of outings. Google Hobie Mirage Inflatable Seat Pad - i Comfort.

Installed two of these in our TI and never a problem again. I do worry about puncture but so far haven't had any air loss.

Edit: Some people put this seat on top of the original seat ... we are using them alone and are quite happy.

Changing your seat and pedal angles helps, but here's the layering I prefer:

- iComfort seat
- Hobie Padded highback seat
- Rubber pad glued to hull

Ahhhh,... ;-)

If you need more than this, consider butt-enhancing pads. Seriously. They started adding these to mens OC-1 shorts recently. Gives you that "brazilian backside".

(You could always pick up the paddle too.)

I got a foam seat pad from Sports Authority. Don't remember the name, but it's made for hunters. It's about 3/4" thick and almost the same shape as the Hobie seat bottom. Mucho better. No more numb buns!

Thanks for all the good ideas. I may have to try one of those I comfort seats.

Another cheap idea that works is one of those folding car seat supports with a back strap to hold it to the original seat from Walmart. $11.50 well spent!

Used a iComfort seat from day one and later updated to Hobie Padded highback seat. Just have to stop the straps working loose. That's another story.

I have just saved your Butt:
I have been using this cushion for many years. It is worth it's weight in Gold. My Father is wheelchair bound and this is the same type of cushion he uses to prevent getting sores on his bottom from sitting for long periods of time. It is by far the best cushion I have used. Plus it floats.

AIR4SAIL,
Thanks for posting that link to the Kayak Fishing Store, they have some other interesting products as well and I added it to my Favorites.
I think this might be a good resource for folks who are concidering adding a more comfortable and supportive seat to their Haka Benches.
