I have two outbacks, and have used them maybe 8 times since new. On one of them the left hand seatback adjustment buckle doesn't hold and keeps slipping. It quite aggravating to be constantly tightening it. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you solve it?

I have the same issue(2011 Outback). They dont slip easily, however I do notice about an inch slip after a few minutes.

Perhaps it is the angle that we are leaning back on. Hopefully someone will chime in and reccomoend a good DIY mod.

Tighten the seat just a little bit higher (forward) than you want it to be, then tie a overhand knot in the leftover strap on each side and slide it up tight to the strap adjustment buckle. As the seat slides back just a little bit with use, the knot will jam the buckle and stop any further slipping. Works for me.

I have the same problem on both my Mirage boats. A knot works but I like to move the seat around during long outings and a knot makes that hard. A better solution is to add a "sliding bar adjuster" between the seat and the hook. A picture is worth a thousand words so look up West Marine item 534321 or 534297.
