Can you post a picture of the damaged scupper hole?

As long as you are placing the cart full against the bottom before putting any weight on cart you should be ok. It's when you don't get the cart poles all the way in that can cause damage.

After My Pro Angler developed a split in the hole, My dealer said that Hobie was advising against it with the heavy boats. They recommend using the strap on cradle carts. I had the boat out only about ten times when it split. I haven't seen the issue addressed by the reps here on the forums, other than an earlier general post about cart misuse when not fully inserted.

mine are barely just starting to show wear. I always put the cart on prior to loading in and always secure it properly.

Not sure which year but they have started reinforcing the scuppers. If you see a black lining inside the scuppers you have the up to date version. If you have an older model, not sure if you can get the reinforcements for the scuppers. You should check with your dealer.

They started re-inforcing the scupper holes in the front and rear cart holes with the 2012 model.

No major problems yet, but what you say above is another reason for my concern. I just dont want to be using the cart if it is going to screw up my scuppers. I will pay to get another kind of heavy duty cart if I need to, but it will suck a bit.
