Finally got a small window of summer breeze, just prior to some storms moving in. First time I've been able to sail the new AI under any sort of double digit speed winds (12 to 15 MPH). I did this for about 2 hours or more. Lots of splash and water - I was soaked head to toe by the time I was done (wind and swells got much larger as the storms got closer, A lot of fun but I could hear thunder so it was time to get the heck out of there).
This boat had a split/crack in the hull bottom along the forward mast support pin as delivered. I used a plastic welder to repair it and even after 2 hours of this there was not a single drop of water inside the hull nor any obvious sign of structural problems. It may open up and sink like a brick tomorrow, but for now it appears sound.
